This is a reloadable smart card that can be used on all forms of public transport. This will avoid the hassle of buying individual tickets and ,maybe save you a little money. We paid 70TL for the initial card and then most fares were reduced.
2. Tram: The tram network in Istanbul is particularly useful for exploring the historic peninsula. Many of the city’s most famous landmarks are located in this area. The T1 line, also known as the “Historic Peninsula Tram,” runs from Kabataş to Bağcılar, passing through Sultanahmet and Eminönü along the way. This line provides easy access to attractions such as the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and the Grand Bazaar.

If you have been to Albania, they work in a similar way to the furgons there.

Similar to taxis, ridesharing apps like Uber and Lyft operate in Istanbul and can be a convenient option for getting around, especially for those who prefer the convenience of booking rides through a smartphone app. Keep in mind that ridesharing services may have limited availability in certain areas or during peak times.
Bicycle

To get to Istanbul from the city’s airports, you can take various transportation options. Neither airport is particularly close to the city and they are located at opposite ends of Istanbul. Don’t turn up at the wrong airport like we did… However, after a high-speed dash in a failing Dacia, we still made our flight. Be better organised than us!
Taxi: Taxis are readily available at both Istanbul airports (Atatürk and Sabiha Gökçen). They provide a convenient door-to-door service, but it can be more expensive than other options.
Airport Shuttle: Many airport shuttle services operate between the airports and central locations in Istanbul. They are usually a more affordable option compared to taxis.
Public Transport: Istanbul has an extensive public transport network, including metro, tram, and bus services. You can use public transport to reach the city centre from both airports.
Private Transfer: Some hotels and travel companies offer private transfer services from the airports to your destination in Istanbul. This option provides more comfort and convenience but can be pricier than other options. We used this before and the car that turned up really brought the party!
